The levels of nutritional calcium in frozen fruit and vegetables can be enhanced by processing with calcium chloride.
Additional food processing applications include meat tenderization, as a refrigerant in the manufacture of ice cream and frozen foods, reducing oil consumption and darkening of French fries, , it is also used in cheese, tofu, and sports drinks because of its effectiveness as an anti-caking agent, stabilizer.
